Our source hierarchy
- The published novels: the reference point for canonical claims. Chapter-level citations are added only when actually verified.
- Author and publisher statements: useful for publication details and explicit clarifications.
- Secondary guides: the basis of this launch directory. They can contain errors and are not labeled as official canon.
Four kinds of information
- Referenced: a detail supported by a linked reference.
- Interpretation: an editorial reading suggestion, not a new worldbuilding fact.
- Fan-made: original diagrams, quiz questions and matching rules.
- Unspecified: not established in the references used for this collection.
Reading levels in The Empyrean
Just starting shows general terminology. Finished Fourth Wing enables the launch character directory. Finished Iron Flame and Finished Onyx Storm enable selected later clarifications. These are book-level boundaries, not chapter-by-chapter controls.
Names of prominent dragons and the existence of later explanations can still appear in navigation. External links do not inherit your reading settings. Concealment is a reading aid, not a restriction on access to the underlying site files.
Corrections & updates
A useful correction identifies the page, the disputed statement and a verifiable source. We do not treat an unsupported comment or a fan theory as confirmation. This initial edition was prepared on 4 October 2026.

Illustrations show a reading concept, not an official design. Labels avoid exact dimensions, biological mechanisms or details that cannot be supported.
